Yeah! It's official! I came home from work last night and my wife had good news to tell me. Yesterday when they went to bible study meeting, my daughter walked up to her mom and said "mommy, potty in bathroom"? That means that now my daughter is getting tired of wet diapers and she's getting used to sitting on the toilet to go potty which means soon we won't have to buy diapers anymore and my daughter will be potty trained. Another good thing is that my daugher will be ready to start pre-school either this fall or next year. Most likely this year. Yeahhhh! I'm so happy. Daddy proud of his little princess. My wife and I tried to teach her to go potty on the toilet but she would get scared and cry so we had to wait. But now, after seeing her brother use the potty all the time, she's not scared anymore. I'm sure the feeling of a full diaper also helped her to see the benefits of going potty in the toilet as well. Good going my daughter briannah! daddy's proud of you.

Vintage cars

I saw one the other day while strolling around the neighborhood. I really find vintage cars to be classy and appealing. No wonder they are now considered as Cars on Demand and more and more car enthusiast prefer them than modern ones. But why? Accordingly, those people who love vintage cars have the passion for collecting excellent finds. Just like jewelry collectors, potteries, gold coins, to more novelty items like stamps and books, vintage cars are viewed as something of greater value and a rare find. But we all know how expensive those kinds of vehicles are, so we just leave them to the reach and famous I guess.

On a second note, living in a country where owning a car is as important as buying groceries, we can be thankful that there are car companies that still gives away competitive deals and practical offers. Some offers short term contract, with 1-12 months lease. Regardless if we have a vintage car or those simpler ones, we need to be a responsible car owner.

Boeing 787 DreamLiner's first flight

This morning while listening to the local news, I got word that the new and much anticipated debut of the Boeing 787 dreamliner was going to stop into San Diego's Lindbergh Field as it completes its around the world tour. It will stop in San Diego to show off it's wings and welcome local Goodrich Corp and Hamilton Sundstrand Employees who helped build the next-generation plane. But the viewing of this beautiful aircraft will not be made available to the public. I wanted to go downtown to watch it come into San Diego but since I have kids that need to be taken to school, and watched at home, I wasn't able to make it. I posted this video of the 787 dreamliners first flight which even though I'm not there, it's still a sight to see. It took off from Boeings Paine field Airport for a 5 hour flight test.

Our second child was a girl

Last month my wife and I received some baby shower invitations from a close friend of ours in our congregation. They were going to have a baby girl. We gave them baby blankets. My wife and I know all about having baby girl's because our first child was a baby boy and we were praying for a baby girl the second time and that's what we had. As a parent, I know that having a baby shower is one of the most wonderful things a parent can have in his/her life. It's the celebration of your baby's coming into this world. Before we had our daughter, we wanted to tell everyone that we were going to have a baby girl so we told everyone in our congregation but it wasn't enough. We didn't have a lot of money so we had a friend of ours design some professional baby shower invitations to send out to our other friends. We learned a lot about different kinds of baby shower invitations.

At first we thought about making our own baby shower invitations to save money but since we don't have a printing press, it soon became clear that we were going to need some help. Baby shower invitations can include all kinds of information about the time, date, place such as the address and location of the party, and even the phone number in case you get lost heading towards the party. Feeling sentimental and nostalgic, this song reminds me of memories from the past, memories I will always love. I will have to upload it and that's what I am doing now. The optometrist called to let us know that my wife's prescription was ready for pick up so I took my wife downtown to the optometrist. As soon as we got inside and I put my daughter down she ran for the basket of chocolate. While my wife was having her prescription fitted, I checked out the selection of frames for my prescription. Then I turned around to look for my daughter and she was trying on her own pair of glasses even though she has good vision. My wife and I both laughed when we saw her with the glasses upside down on her face. My little daughter is growing up to be a fashion girl.

We're looking to buy a home

When is the right time to buy a new home? I often wonder about that. People from work keep telling me NOW is the right time to buy a home. I have 2 kids and a wife and we really want to buy our own home but we're not sure what kind of down payment would be required to get into say maybe a 3 bedroom home. We need at least a 3 bedroom home because my mother-in-law should be arriving here from the Philippines next year so we need to extra bedroom for her. My wife and have talked about this but I haven't spoke to a professional Realtor about this. I guess the first step is to find the right house for the right price then apply for a home mortgage loan.

I've been researching the home buying experience online and learning all the tricks because sooner or later we're going to have to move out of our apartment and find something bigger but I have learned you really need the help of an experienced real estate agent to help you. I wouldn't do this on your own. You can really get yourself in hot water if you don't know what your doing. It used to be that if you had a good credit score you could get yourself into a home with no problem. Now things have changed. Banks are now accepting those with less than perfect credit and can still get an approval for a home mortgage. But from what I understand, it's not that easy.

I checked out some websites that good provide reliable information about applying for FHA/VA home loans. I have previous military experience but discharged under honorable condition so I even checked into getting my discharge upgraded so I can qualify for VA home loan. I'm still working on that but we still are going to need a second income to make this home buying experience work. I'm going to keep on working at this. We already applied for government assistance so only time will tell.

My grandmother loves watching Paula Deen on the food network. She loves to cook southern food, so she likes to cook most of Paula Deen’s recipes. She says that she watches her show at the same time everyday and tries to write down all of her recipes. However, she said that sometimes she does not write fast enough and she does not get all of the ingredients written down. I told my grandmother that she should be able to look up all the recipes online. She said that she does not have the internet and she does not even know if she can get the internet at her house. I told her that she should Get Wild Blue internet. She asked me more about it and I helped her schedule it to be set up. After she had internet at her house, I showed her how to go to Paula Deen’s website, as well as a bunch of other websites where she could find recipes. Now, every week my grandmother calls me and tells me about the new recipe she is trying and how happy she is that she has the internet.

Most expensive car in the world

Last week I took the family to Los Angeles for 4 days of rest and relaxation. We visited hollywood and beverly hills. One of the places we visited was rodeo drive where you can visit all the most expensive brand name stores that all the actors and actresses visit. My wife really loved this area of beverly hills. You don't really see too many people walking out of these stores with their hands full of shopping bags. That's because everything cost so much money. While we visited beverly hills we took one of those tour vans around beverly hills and that's where we found out about rodeo drive. We passed this really fancy race car that's supposedly the most expensive car in the world. My wife took a picture of it. It's called a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 It has 16 cylinders and has 4 wheel drive. It is the most sophisticated production vehicle of all times. I think it's an Italian car. WOW! Look what money can buy you these days.

Shoes for the modern life

When I think about my most favorite and most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned there's only one pair that I can think of that really satisfied me the most and that's the dockside shoe made by Sebago. Other names you may be familiar with are boat shoes or top-siders. I can remember the first time I purchased a pair of dockside shoes. They fit so nice and were so comfortable. I didn't want to take them off. These shoes are considered the epitome of the casual shoe. Usually made of water and stain resistant leather and non-slip soles perfect for boating or just casual use hence the name boat shoe but if you want a good pair of boat shoes, expect to pay good money for them.

My wife has been reminding me that she wants to buy some comfortable shoes for going out in service since her shoes are wearing out and she complains about pain in her feet after several hours of walking. I asked her if she would like to pick something out in the Miz Mooz collection. Woman loved to shop for shoes so she jumped at the chance to pick out some new shoes. While browsing through the online website, she wanted to shop for some new boots. She loves the cowboy style boots. A good pair of boots when broken in properly can last a long time and they are so comfortable. She has some boot’s but she would like to buy a pair of these Frye Boots but in a darker color to make her look good in a pair of jeans.
