Filipino Sinigang

Well, i came home from work yesterday and i was tired but i was so hungry. I'm sure you've had days like this were you just cant wait to eat something coz the hunger pain is just overwhelming. Well, yesterday was one of those days for me. I got home around 3pm after a long day of fixing buses. I asked my wife if she could please make Filipino sinigang soup for me coz i haven't had it in so long and i was longing so much for that taste. She happily agreed. Geez! I was so much longing for that soup that i not only ate my big bowl of soup but i nearly finished her bowl too! hehehehe. My wife makes the best Filipino sinigang soup ever and its so good when it's served pipping hot just off the stove. She adds green chili's to give it flavor and boldness just like Tita's in national city on plaza blvd does. For those who've never been to Tita's in national city, I highly recommend you visit them. All the food is freshly made and you just gotta try their Sisig. Anyways, I've included the recipe for Sinigang for those who don't know how to make it. There's many variations so this is not specific and it depends on how spicy you like it. Kainan na!

3 lbs pork ribs, chopped into 1 inch pieces ( If you prefer fish you can substitute for pork)
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 medium onion, chopped
1 packet sinigang tamarind soup mix (found in international food section)
16 cups water
1 bok choy, chopped in 1 to 2 inch slices
1 daikon radish, chopped in thin round slices (optional)
1 small tomato, chopped fine (optional)
2 small potatoes, chopped in large chunks (optional)
5 green chili's
salt to taste

bon appetite................!
