Supervisor got in a wreck

I came into work today after a long weekend ready to start a new week. It was nice to have a long weekend off and i was ready to work. All the mechanics were waiting for their supervisor to show up so we could get our work for the day. The night shift supervisor came into the lunch room and told us that our supervisor wouldn't be coming in to work today because he had gotten into an accident but he didn't have motorcycle insurance . My supervisor drives a Suzuki motorcycle and it's one of the newer ones but i don't remember the model. Unfortunately he lives south of the U.S. border in mexico so not having motorbike insurance cost him some big money. Your not required to have insurance down south. Thankfully he was not seriously hurt and just got a couple of bruises on his arm and back. I talked to him on the phone and he was saying that some guy didn't see him at an intersection and ran right into him. The other guy was driving a minivan. I would think if i'm going to drive a motorcycle i would at least have bike insurance because you can never tell when something bad may happen. His motorcycle got messed up pretty bad and it he will need to spend some serious money to get his bike up and running again. I'm sure he'll look into some bike insurance after he recovers. Whatever insurance company he goes with, he should check to make sure he's getting quality insurance at a low price and it's also a good idea if the company can provide you with some biking tips to keep you and your ride safe. There are many bikers clubs that one can join to make riding safer as well. When planning to travel long distances it's always a good idea to plan your journey and map out the exact route so your better prepared for any unforeseen occurrences.
