My sister-in-law is pregnant to her second child and she said that she is going through a lot during this pregnancy. Her morning sickness is taking a toll on her. My wife rarely talks to her online because she rarely goes online and when she does it will only take her a few minutes then log off because she’s physically drained from her first trimester. Her first born daughter is turning two years old next month and but she’s still drinking store brand formula along with the solid food. My wife thinks that it’s going to be tough for them financially when their second child is born because they only have one income coming in. Her husband has a stable job in the military. Good thing they have their other house rented that will help them a lot financially. My wife suggested them to stay with the store-brand formula because it’s not only cheaper but it’s nutritionally equivalent to the name-brand formula. My wife thought about giving them Similac Advance but she found out on the news that there’s a recall. She read the article about Similac recall issues and she said that there were larvae in the formula. That’s sick and gross. I learned that consumers preferring the brand-formula pay higher cost because of the high marketing and advertising.
According to a publisher and I quote “The WIC (women, infant and children) program offers food, nutrition counseling, and access to health services to low-income women, infants, and children - makes store brand formula benefit eligible”.
