Sea World theme park

Not my photo

This year my family and I want to take the kids to Sea World but we just can't find it in our budget to make it happen. Sea World keeps sending me emails about special offers for me and my family and it looks really tempting but I told my wife we just can't do it and maybe next year we will do it. My son keeps bugging me to take him to Lego land and my daughter wants to go to Sea World. Although I'm not the kind of father to deprive my kids of having fun, when it comes to a decision of eating or having fun at a theme park, I would rather eat. I  think next year after the tax season is over, we're going to be in a much better position to take our kids to Sea World. I can't wait because my wife and I love Sea World too!

Homework-Family Project

My daughter is holding up my sons homework from school. My son came home from his second day of school yesterday and handed this to my wife and my wife showed me this. Inside the folded paper was a letter from the teacher. The title was: Homework- Family Project.

Dear parents,

This is a family project that needs to be completed and returned by Monday, August 6, 2012. The project consist of of creating a self-portrait of your child. The body needs to be cut out before you begin your assignment. You may use fabric, buttons, yarn, beans, foil paper, macaroni, newspaper, tissue, crayons, markers, or anything you like. Make sure that the self-portrait reflects your child's personality. Have fun and be creative.

I got to thinking, wow, what a great way to involve the whole family and have fun in the process. Since my son loves clam chowder soup with rice, I asked my wife if we could put some clam shells on the body but we got to thinking it might get a litttle too heavy. She suggested cheerios since he likes that in his oatmeal for breakfast. Great idea hon! And I was thinking maybe some super mario logos because he likes to play super mario. Hmmm? There are so many possibilities that could be mentioned but I'm out of ideas so if any one reading this has some helpful ideas, please give me your feedback. This will be fantastic for the kids and a great and simple way to get the whole family involved. After it's finished it can be posted on a wall or even your refrigerator as a decoration or just something to remember your little one by.

Family fun at Mountain Hawk Park

It's always nice if you can take some time off with the kids and take them to some place nice like Disneyland or Universal Studios but it can also be expensive unless you have a year membership but still you need to have money for food, gas, and souvenirs for the kids. Being that tomorrow will be my son's first day of school in first grade, we decided to take him and his little sister to some place close here in San Diego like a park. This way I don't have to do a lot of driving and spending too much money. So that's what we did today. We learned of this nice park next to Otay Lakes and this park has a water play area where the kids can play. You know those amusement parks that have water shooting out of the ground at different sizes and angles and such? Well, that's what our kids did today. Especially my son as he likes to play in the water. We had some barbecue as well and I ate a lot as usual. We had a lot of fun today and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg to do it. That's the best kind of fun a family can have, good clean fun without spending a lot of money.

Family day at Disneyland park

Last Friday I decided to call my sons school and excuse him for the day because I had plans to take the kids and wife to Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca. Anyways, he had been having a little bit of a cough and I didn't want to spread his cough to his classmates. I told my kids I was going to take them somewhere but I didn't tell them where and as we were driving to Anaheim, my daughter quickly fell asleep but my son was so curious with anticipation because we told them it was a surprise so all the way there he never fell asleep. By the time we got to Anaheim and he saw some Disneyland buses he started saying "Daddy, Disneyland buses" Look Daddy. He says, "Daddy, are we going to Disneyland" ? OK, so he figured it out. Smart kid he his. Then my daughter woke up and they were all excited. So we spent most of the day there. Had a great time, seen the parade twice, got a lot of photos including one with mickey mouse but my daughter was too scared. I don't understand her. If you have kids, you really need to take them to Disneyland where they can really be a kid and have fun with all their favorite characters. This picture was taken at Disneyland California Adventure park. It's mainly for adults but there are some rides that your children can go on.

Our visit to Disneyland Resort

Lately for the past few years my wife and I have purchased membership tickets to different attractions or theme parks. Last year it was to Sea World. The year before that was the San Diego Zoo. Although last year we did visit Disneyland in California, we did not have a yearly membership pass so this year my wife and I decided to do something special for our 2 children by getting a year membership disneyland tickets. We've used the passes one time so far but we're planning to go many more times before the end of the year so that we get our money's worth. The first time we went, my children just loved the park. It brings back memories of when my wife and I were just kids. There's so much to see and do there. My wife took all kinds of photos of our visit to the park. I especially like "The World Of Color" at the Adventure Park. It's a light show on water synchronized to different movies you remember as a kid. If you want to see this show, I suggest you reserve seats before 10am in the morning otherwise you may not get a good view of the show as the show fills up quickly and it's standing room only which you don'rt want to do. The other part of the park is Disneyland Resort which is more suited towards the kids. You will see all different kinds of Disneyland characters walking around like Snow White, Mickey Mouse, Mini Mouse, Donald Duck. All the characters you remember seeing on TV. But it's hard to get some photos with them because they are always walking around so you have to be fast. We got some photos with some of the characters. My kids love the Disney railroad train where it passes by different parts of Disneyland like Toontown, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Bugsland, Carsland and Tomorrowland. My son and daughter also love The Autopia where you can drive a car around a track. The last time we rode the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. It was so cool and lifelike. It your looking for wholesome family fun, you must visit Disnayland in California. You will have so much fun you want to come back again and again. My kids keep asking us when we will return. We will go back after my son has his summer vacation.

Carlsbad flowers fields in Carlsbad, California

Here's some photos of my wife, kids and me at the Carlsbad flower fields. Last week I took advantage of my day off by taking the kids and wife to the flower fields. My wife has been bugging me to take her because she's heard advertisements about the flowers blooming already and since she has her new camera, she want's to experiment with taking some photos of flowers to see how well they will come out. We got to the flower fields and it was a pretty cloudy day. Not the best picture perfect weather but since it was my day off, we took advantage of it. The flowers are so beautiful and blooming. Some of the flowers I seen where just exploding with beauty. If your lucky enough to live in San Diego, Ca you really need to visit the flower fields of Carlsbad, Ca. They have wagon rides and it will take you all around the fields. Tickets for the wagon rides are $5.00 for adults and $ 3.00 for children ages 3-10. Admission tickets to the flower fields are $11.00 for adults, $6.00 for children 3-10. If you have a pet, keep it at home as pets are not allowed. The flower fields are open from March 1 - May 13, 2012. It's worth the money to see the many different kinds of flowers.
