Smooth and glossy floor

Have you been to any government offices in your area? Have you noticed their polished concrete floors? It’s nice huh? I would love to have floors like that. Well, actually not only government offices prefer to have polished concrete floors because some of the big stores, medical facilities, hotels, schools and even homeowners desired to have it too because it’s appealing and inviting to most people. Hopefully when my wife and I can afford our dream house in the Philippines if not here in American, we will consider having that kind of flooring if not similar. It looks fancy and dirt-free. Of course my children would be rolling over on that floor because of its smoothness and high-glossy feel/looks of it. I heard that this kind of flooring is inexpensive and it’s a lot easier to clean and maintain its appearance compared to a traditional stone flooring or hardwood and carpeted ones.

Whatever makes and gives home a homey feeling by all means work on it because it’s going to be a sanctuary place for you. If nice glossy flooring or polished concrete is what makes your mood happy then go for it. I can’t wait to have our own house so I can customize it with our own preference.

I need air and water filtration

My wife hates to drink water from our faucet and no matter how much I try to convince her she just won’t listen. She told me that our tap water taste rusty. I really can’t tell the difference between tap water and the bottled water, I think they taste the same. But for some reason my wife is not convinced. I think I should get a water filter that way I can give an assurance to my wife that it’s ok to drink tap water. Well I don’t really mind buying the 5 gallons of water every other day but I think we can save some money when we start drinking tap water. Drinking tap water is really not a new thing for my wife because that’s what she drinks back in her home. At least with water filter it’s going to make our tap water clean and safe for drinking. I found water filter at Electrolux. They have numerous electrolux home products parts that every household can use. They even have the air and water filtration system for my refrigerator, I need one to help reduce if not get rid of the odor in our refrigerator. It’s my fault because I often leave the food uncover inside the fridge.

Nice and tidy garage area

Every Sunday for our field service meeting, our congregation meets up at our friends house. We gather together for our morning service meeting and have a short bible discourse before we head out to our territory for that day. We basically meet in our friend's garage area, although the space isn't that big but because of the garage organization systems that they have, we are able to have enough space for our chairs. I wish we had our own house with a huge garage area so I can turn it into a fitness and at the same time my wife's laundry mat area.  Of course with the help of the right garage organization like cabinets, shelves and other portable storage units to keep my tools and my wife's stuff safe and secured and it will also keep my garage area nice/neat and tidy. I love clutter free and spacious garage and who doesn’t anyway? When things in the house are in order and well organized, it’s calming, relaxing and soothing to our eyes and knowing that our home is clean and environment friendly it feels good inside.

I can only imagine having a nice house with a nice garage would be so inviting and pleasing not only for us but to the visitors as well. Anyway, this is just one of my dreams and hopefully we’ll be able to achieve it someday if not soon and in God’s time too.

The Best Patio among the Rest

These days, outdoor living spaces are becoming tremendously trendy due to the fact that there are competent people that are now renewing every patio pavers with a type of brick that has unique, exceptional and distinctive designs. Actually, we can only see bricks paving designs on some historic buildings like those patios around museums and other old buildings. But now, standard residential houses embrace this kind of bricks formation.

I can just imagine what will be our home if I can have the finest patio in our neighborhood. Yes, it is the reason why I keep on browsing the Internet for professional advice for our dream home. Of course, all the structures are important but to complete it all, a perfect choice of an appealing patio paver can be absolutely just right for our entire dream house. Until I notice these outdoor designs from one of the finest patio gallery that astonishes me. I guess they got all what we need since they will do not only the paver patios but including paver on driveways, pool decks, and walkways with only one of its kind pattern designs. This will help create our home sweet home be the best among the rest.

First time home buyer?

My wife and I are so tempted to buy a home. Unfortunately, after we weighed our situation, we realized it’s not our time for home investment yet. We have to save some more money for down-payments; we are talking thousands of dollars here. I’m sure if we have two incomes coming-in to our household, we definitely don’t have to worry about future home mortgages and stuff like that. Even though our credit score are better now than ever before and we qualifies for the home buying requirements, we still have to wait until my wife works.

Until then, we just have to sacrifice and stay where we’re at right now. My co-worker just bought a home and he suggested me to seek help from a professional realtor who can work with us. He said that they were given the best rates that fit their budget. He submitted their application form and a few days later he received a phone call to let him know that he got approved. Lucky him!

Books inspire me…

Posted by Arden Wallace

Something that I appreciate more than most people is a good book. I feel like a good book inspires you to be a better person, and to experience life more. Usually when I’m done reading a book, I sit down and reflect on what it is that I think that book wanted me to learn. My most recent book that I read was actually Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestselling novel: “Eat, Pray, Love.” I will tell you that I didn’t even have to get to the last page to know that I wanted to go on the exact same trip that Elizabeth went on, and I wanted to go soon. I just got out of a very serious relationship, and had some major soul-searching to do. I got my passport, went online to check out security systems at hTTP://WWW.SecurityChoice.Com, took my dog to doggie day care, and hit the road for 6 months. Anyone that has the means to do so should take the trip. Although mine was shortened, it was a revealing trip of a lifetime.

Trying to convince her

My wife hated tap water for drinking. She’s telling me that the tap water here in our place tastes rusty, I don’t get it. I don’t understand why she’s saying that it taste like rust when she never taste rust literally. I tried to convince her that we need to stop buying bottled water so we can save some money but she refuses to do so. I don’t mind at all drinking tap water. As a matter of fact, I drink tap water when I’m at work. I wonder if I purchase tap water filter at Puriteam and install it to our faucet, will my wife drink the water from it or not. I really don’t know. I don’t want to waste my money from buying either of the following; countertop water filter, house water filter, drinking water filter or tap water filter and later I find out that my wife preferred to drink bottled water still.

Investigate and do a little research first

Looking for an apartment that is for rent is an exhausting and time consuming event especially if you moved to a big city and don't know your way around. There are a lot of things to consider when looking for an apartment and if you don't get it right the first time and you sign the contract, you might have some regrets in the future. For instance (I will pick a state randomly), if you want to move in New Jersey and you have decided to just rent an apartment instead of buying a house, and you happened to have a friend who lives there, you might want to ask for some referrals. If you don’t know anyone in New Jersey, you might want to check Apartment for Rent in New Jersey online. Read some reviews and testimonials from other clients who have stayed in a certain apartment that you have planned on moving-in because that will really help you. In our case, my wife and I had hard time finding the right apartment but we sought help from our friends and it didn’t take long for us to get the apartment that we longed to have. We’ve been in our apartment for years now and it looks like we will stay here until our kids grow up. My wife and I are considering purchasing our dream home but we have to work hard for it.

Tips for back to school

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

Having my kids home for 3 weeks has been a mixed blessing. I love having my kids home and spending extra time with them but after 3 weeks the boredom sets in. I am out of craft ideas, it is too cold to go outside and even for them, there are only so many cookies that they can make, decorate and eat. That's why I am so excited that it is time to for them to go back to school. Now I only have to come up with enough activities to entertain them in the afternoons. It is always a little hard for them to transition from vacation to regular school schedule so there are a few things that I do to help ease them in. First, I never make their vacation bedtime differ too much from their normal bedtime. For Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve I let them stay up as late as they want, or in their case can, but other than those 2 days I never extend their bedtime for more than an hour. I also make sure they wake up at a decent time and the night before school starts we pick out school clothes and get their back packs ready. That way in the morning we are not rushed. All we have to do is grab everything and turn on our home security alarm (click here) on our way out the door.

The spirit is still there

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.

Its five days after Christmas and still many houses are still celebrating the Christmas spirit with their friends and families. I can see the Christmas decorations in the neighborhood are still up. I can tell that our neighborhood thought that they must have the following outdoor and indoor Christmas decorations; a lot of candy cane that give lights in their front yard, inflatable Santa Clause, rain deer, snowman Christmas tree, ornaments and Christmas lights. Pier 1 Imports has all of those stuffs on clearance sale. Who knows one of our neighbors purchases their decorations at their Website. They have all kinds of holiday gifts ideas that an individual can ever think of.

One of my co-workers hosted a dinner party at their home and he said that his wife bought snowball dinnerware and glassware, beaded poinsettia placemat, Santa kitchen towel and green Christmas table runner. They are well prepared for this holiday season.

I know some of the people out there still want to continue to spread the holiday cheer and you can do that by liking Pier 1 Imports on Facebook. Feel free to donate $1 to Toys for Tots

I was looking at the Pier 1 Import Website and I’m eyeing at the Daisy chair. The design and color matches to our curtains and couch. It would be nice to have this in our living room.

Our favorite local place to eat out!

Guest post of the week by Robby Sykes

I'm no gourmet cook by any means of the word so it shouldn't surprise you that we eat out often. When we get tired of all of those fantastic restaurant chains and choose to eat at a local eatery, there's only one place we go. Uncle Sam's Gourmet Subs!

I set my home alarm devices leaving the house to go to dinner. It has just become a habit for my family. We always make sure to grab the menu before we leave out, though.

Uncle Sam's is the best sub shop in the area if you ask me. And their subs are gourmet. They have almost any type of sub sandwich you can think of. They even serve vegetarian subs. I always get their Ultra Mushroom Cheesesteak. My daughter says they have the best Ham and Cheese subs. I happen to agree with her! They also serve soft drinks and fries. Here's a tip: If you eat inside, the fries are free!

The atmosphere is typical of a college town. They have some cool rock music in the background. The waitress and cooks are all college students. The eat in part of the store is small but always packed. They are always busy! In spite of all of the craziness in the place, everyone is very friendly.

If you are in the Pittsburgh area anytime soon, I highly recommend trying out Uncle Sam's. We crave it now because they are so good!
