XML Contest for students, professionals

Do you like contest? I don't think i know anyone who doesn't love a contest. Do you have a creative mind for developing things? If you enjoy designing or developing things IDUG is looking for you. IDUG is sponsoring a IDUG contest for hobbyists, students, or professional developers to help bring out awareness and familiarity of their XQuery, XML and DB2. Anyone can enter and they have some cool prizes if the judges pick your design as one of the winners. There's five different tracks for contestants with varying skill levels. Enter one track or enter all five, its up to you. But before you can participate you'll need to take a quick quiz. A short questionnaire that requires no previous XML or database experience to complete.

Here are the five different contest.
  1. Video Contest: Upload a video, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly
  2. Gadget Contest: Create a small widget or gadget, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly.
  3. XQuery Challenge: Answer a series of questions by developing queries in XQuery. All correct answers (answer and query structure) entered to win larger prizes
  4. Port an Application: Port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2. Judged by a panel of judges
  5. Develop an application: Develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery. Judged by a panel of judges
