Rising cost of gas prices wont deter travel plans

So we purchased our tickets to go to the Philippines march 2nd a few months ago and its a good thing we did. I'm sure most of you are no stranger to the fact that gas prices are on the rise again. Traditionally they would be going down since the season has changed, but at prices for a barrel of oil flirting around $100 and low stockpiles have reversed that trend this year. Are you tired of hearing the same old thing about high gas prices like me? I'm sure you are. And my wallet is'nt an open check book by the way. some people have said that the country should boycott the big oil companies by not buying gas for a day. Right, like that's ever going to happen. Alot of procrastinating but no action right? hehehehe I've always believed in this philosophy. There's strength in numbers. what i mean is that if the country would get together and put their foot down and stop complaining about high gas prices they might actually get something accomplished. But like i said, like that will ever happen. The AAA says that even though gas prices are higher, its not going to deter drivers from hitting the road this thanksgiving. The travel agency's expects a record 38.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home over the five days beginning Nov. 21. That is a 1.6 percent increase over last year. So i checked the current airfare for round trip to Mindanao, Philippines. the cost is $1,325.00 per person. i paid $1,060.00 in September so you can see how much of an increase that is. that $1,325.00 is from the website cheap tickets.com so i would think that the name cheap tickets speaks for itself. if anyone can find cheaper than what i paid for for round trip tickets to Mindanao,Philippines in march, i want to be your friend. hehehehe. i heard of neighboring gas stations going to war over gas prices and one man was actually shot to death because of these crazy prices. this happened in south Detroit,Michigan when a Marathon gas station lowered its prices three times in one day. workers from a neighboring BP gas station went to the marathon gas station to complain and a fight ensued. witnesses said that 6 people were beating each other with a baseball bat and pole that's used to change the sign prices. one witness states that the owner of the marathon gas station got out a gun and shot the owner of the BP gas station. Gee! can you just imagine how crazy this world has gotten. Anyways, i own a Toyota Celia so i get pretty good gas mileage but i still cut back my driving. If anyone has any suggestions on what an average Joe citizen like me can do to help lower the cost of a gallon of gas, please don't hesitate to add your 2 cents worth in this blog. until then, my pants pockets will continue to feel like its got lots of crater holes in them.
